Stevie D. Stevie can do it all.... from Elvis to Dion, Jackie Wilson to James Brown, smooth ballads to rockin' solos. Whether it's a lead vocal or a back up harmony, Stevie delivers; never less than 110% complete with Stevie dance moves and a smile.
Tony Esperance filled some big shoes when Kevin Freeman's career took him in another direction. Though we miss Kevin, we are very fortunate to have Tony's skills as a vocalist, guitar player and expert sound man..... plus, he's a quality person!
Joe Potmesil provides The Bucs with depth in the bass vocal department. This Young Bucs gets the job done! Joe commutes from Salem to make a gig. WOW.... What a voice!
Jacob Renard joined the Bucs at the old age of 13 and has been singing the signature Doo Wop tenor parts ever since. Mathematically, Jacob has lowered the average age of the Young Bucs by a LOT and we are seeing a lot more teenage girls in our audiences lately.
Les Engle - The Young Bucs started as a mostly acapella vocal group, doing doo-wop standards like Duke of Earl, Little Darlin', Don't Know Why I love You, and Come Go With Me. Les has managed to keep the beat going as personnel has changed and the band has developed with the demand to play more 50's and '60's vocal rock and roll. Playing private parties, festivals and local and regional events, The Young Bucs work hard at maintaining the quality and style, authentic to the era.
Aaah yes...... Kelly (Coolen) Hughton , can be found on occasion, as a Special guest (Sensation) of The Young Bucs. This 2009 North Bend High School graduate and 2013 graduate of George Fox University, completed a 5 month stint with the Disney College Program at Disney World in Orlando, FL, working as several different Disney characters. Kelly's beautiful singing voice will knock your socks off! Connie Francis and Teresa Brewer...... move over! What a treat!
The band behind the Vocal Bucs are a very talented group of musicians! Doug Jones (left, back row) is a master of the keyboard. Tom Beckstrom (back row, right) is a brilliant percusionist, while Johnny Salzano and Jerene Shaffar provide unparalelled saxaphone and standup bass, respectively.
